How does one put space between the ad in block 1(right side below the recent logins) and the footer ad? They lay on top of each other.

You can goto manage ads and click on one of the two ads and add a line break. for example the footer ad, you would add this < br /> just before the add code. This only works for coded ads and not uploaded ads.
