v2 is just around the corner and will come with some new exiting functionality.

New additional feature here is that you can switch the Firewall "On" and "Off", without having to remove it from the scripts you have included it in.
This allows for quick action in case you decide not to use the "Firewall" functionality.

Manage Lists:
New here compared to the previous version:
"Blocked URL strings" allows you to block certain strings from being used in the URL.
This can help against RFI attacks, where an attacker tries to include files from a remote location.

Pagination for lists:
This will keep your lists "viewable" and helps your browser to digest even the largest lists without causing it to crash.

As in the last Version, your local list of "Blocked IPs", which can be imported from files and also filled by manual entries.

You can download IP lists from your favourite Website and import them into the SpamTrawler.

Create a "Signature Database":
This new functionality is extremely useful and can safe your day/site.
It creates a "Signature" database of all files currently on your Domain, which can then be used to check for any changes within files at a later stage.

Example 1:
Issue:
Your site has been compromised and you don't know which files have been changed without your knowledge.
Solution:
Simply run a scan and find these files, without having to look through all files manually.

Example 2:
Issue:
While developing new features for your site, you may change a lot of files and sometimes it happens that you may forget to keep track of all of them.
Solution:
Create a new "Signature Database" before you start changing files, and use it to check which files have been changed while developing.

Issue:
Some other developer fixed an issue with your website but did not tell you which files needed to be edited for this.
Solution:
Create a "Signature Database" before the 3rd party starts working, and check against the "Signature Database" after they have finished working on your site.

As mentioned above, thanks to SQLite you can download your "Signature Database" and store it in a secure location to prevent anybody from changing it.

As mentioned above, you can compare your "Signature Database" with the current files on your Domain and find all files which have been edited/deleted after you have created your last "Signature Database".

No need to download files via FTP just to check their content on your local computer.
Quickly view the content of non-binary files in the "FileViewer"

This will for any files which have been "edited" or "Created" within the last 24 hours.
This will help you to find freshly edited files without having to view them all via your FTP client.
Simply click the link and you will get a list of these files.

Whether you are uncertain if a specific file is present or not, or you need to check if your server has been compromited, this will find the file you are looking for.

Have a quick look on your "Spam Map" to get an overview where your "Blocked Visitors" are coming from and how many "Spam Hits" you git from certain countries.

We know you are not nosy, you just want to keep track of where your "legitimate" Visitors are coming from in order to decide on a new SpamTrawler configuration strategy, or even decide on where your "Marketing" would be most effective (This is just a positive side effect, SpamTrawler is not focussed on marketing strategies).

A new "About" Dialog which will not open a new Browser Window.
Apart from only being a different "About" Dialog, this will allow you to quickly check which version of the SpamTrawler you are using in case somebody asks you, or you want to know if there is an update or upgrade available.

A quick note before I get flamed for showing certain countries on the Maps:
These Maps have been generated from example data.
Just because a country is shown on a Map does not mean that I regard them as either "Spam Hotspots" or not.

Based on the new added functionality and future plans, the price for the next version has to be increased to $12
This allows me to use an Affiliate program, which in turn allows customers to earn propper money ;-)
